I spent my childhood playing on the white sandy beaches of the Northwest Cape, W.A. This playground provided early art experiences and inspiration for my future.
"My work explores the theme of “Presence and Absence” through a variety of techniques and media.
Drawing, Painting and Printmaking allows me to extend the boundaries of materials. Most of my drawings are quite labour intensive and involve forms of printed imagery, paint, varnish and traditional drawing materials such as charcoal and graphite.
Sculptural installation provides a way for me to evoke memory in a space, to create an environment for human presence.
This sometimes requires a contained space such as a gallery or an open space in natural surroundings.
Memory and its connection to olfactory senses, childhood and discarded household items continue to provide inspiration for my artwork."
